CII to set up commission on impact of globalisation

Bangalore, Jan 18 (UNI) The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) today said it will set up a commission to study the impact of globalisation on Indian industry in three key sectors and suggest corrective measures.

Talking to newsmen on the sidelines of the 13th CII Partnership summit here CII President R Seshasayee said the study would be conducted on auto components, textiles and drugs and pharmaceuticals.

He said based on the study CII would prepare the Indian industry for the next wave of growth in global arena. If necessary modifications to the globalisation process would be made based on the inputs provided by the study he said adding that it was necessary to make the manufacturing sector also a prime growth engine of the country.

He said the study would be completed before the next partnership summit.
