Call rates closes low at 7.90-8.00 per cent
Mumbai, Jan 18 (UNI) Inter-bank rates continued to dip as they ended the day at 7.90-8.00 per cent as against their previous close of 8.00-8.20 per cent, dealers said.
Despite liquidity still being under considerable pressure, soft borrowing requirements from banks meant that the call money rates remained on the lower side.
The LAF window saw the Central Bank accepting 5 bids worth Rs 195 crore at the 1-day reverse-repo auction while 26 bids for Rs 8,815 crore were received at it's 1-day repo auction.
At the CBLO segment, 354 bids amounting to Rs 21,736 crore were transacted in the range of 7.01-7.27 per cent.
As today was the reporting day, call rates are likely to be tested. However, any tightness seen in the same is expected to be very marginal, dealers added.
