BJP MP Exec to meet on Jan 20

Shivpuri, MP, Jan 18 (UNI) The newly-formed Executive of the Bharatiya Janata Party's Madhya Pradesh unit will meet on January 20 and 21 to discuss the development agenda, state unit President Narendra Singh Tomar said.

''(Former chief minister and Bharatiya Janashakti Founder-President) Uma Bharti is a closed chapter for the BJP,'' he said last evening at a press conference here while responding to a question on the likelihood of her return to BJP fold.

Claiming that the main confrontation during Madhya Pradesh's 2008 Assembly poll would be between the Congress and BJP, Mr Tomar added that a signature campaign would be launched in protest against Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's statement that the minorities had the ''first right'' to the country's resources.

''If the need arises, then other forms of protest will be adopted. Inflation spiralled after the United Progressive Alliance assumed the reins,'' he alleged.

Earlier, Mr Tomar inaugurated a soil-testing centre in the Shivpuri agriculture market.
