Dehradun, Jan 18 (UNI) Communist Party of India (Marxist) leader Subhasini Ali today expressed her concern over Bharatiya Janata Party's taking on the course of communalism saying it was dangerous for the nation's integrity.

Addressing newspersons here, the National President of All India Janwadi Mahila Samiti Ms Ali said BJP's resolution at its last month's Lucknow Convention, to toe the communal line by playing Hindutva card again as electoral agenda, was dangerous for the integrity of nation.

Terming BJP's resolution of low level she said, ''Instead of opting for issues like nuclear treaty with America, economy and other more important issues as its agenda it has decided to play with the sentiments of people by promoting anti-Muslim feelings.'' The party's attempt to strengthen its vote bank in the name of Hindutva would again give way to communal hatred that has subsided to an extent, she said adding, that her party was well determined to fight the communal forces in the country like it has done before.

When asked whether the Left has compromised with its ideologies to support the UPA government at the Centre, Ms Ali said that Left has always stuck to its ideology. ''We are still struggling against globalisation and implementation of Domestic Violence Act could be considered as one of the success of Left parties." When asked why her party at the Centre was silent on delay in the execution of Afzal Guru, she maintained that the process was going through judicial process thereby respecting democratic system. ''Demand of his early execution by anyone holds no relevance,'' she said.
