Asiatic lion found dead in dam near Gir forest

Junagadh, Jan 18 (UNI) The carcass of an Asiatic lion was fished out today from the Kamleshwar dam near Gir forest, about 65 kms from here.

The lion was about 11 years old, forest officials said.

The body has been sent for post-mortem.

This is the second casulaty of the endangered species reported in less than a fortnight. On January 4, a lion was electrocuted while trying to cross a farm, that had an electric fence, in Simar village of Una tehsil.
