Basirhat, Jan 18 (UNI) The Sub-divisional court today remanded two Bangladeshis, arrested yesterday, to 14-day police custody.

Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate of the subdivisional court Pallab Roy Chowdhury remanded the Bangladeshis to police custody as Investigating officer of the CID, West Bengal, Partha Majumder sought for it, sources said.

CID had registered a case against the accused - Al Amin and Diphu Khan alias Ali Hassan - under Sections 121, 121(A), 123, 124 and 468 IPC (Indian Penal Code) with the Basirhat police station and forwarded them to the court this afternoon.

Although, neither the police nor the CID officials present at the court spoke to the media about the accused, the Sections under which the case was registered suggested that they were allegedly involved with the waging or attempting to wage war or abetting waging of war against India and conspiring to commit such offence.

A case was also registered against them for forgery.

CID had apprehended the accused, last weekend, from the bordering area of Basirhat police station in North 24 Parganas and reportedly seized certain documents like forged passports, diary and some other incriminating documents.

The investigating officer indicated that the duo might be involved in more grave crimes than Sohel and Juber who were earlier nabbed by the BSF from Sandeshkhali area last year and handed over to the police.

Immediately after the court's remand order the CID officials took both the miscreants to their headquarters in the city for further interrogations.
