Nagpur, Jan. 18 (UNI) A new-born abducted from a hospital here, was found abandoned in a temple in the city today, police said.

Police Inspector S N Mundewadikar told UNI that a resident of Babhulban area found the infant in a Hanuman temple, near his house this afternoon.

A baby boy born to Devangana Ikhraj Selokar had been abducted last Tuesday, three days after he was born in the Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital.

She and her husband identified the baby as their son, Mr Mundewadikar said.

The police would hand over the baby to the parents after recording their statement, he said, adding no arrests had been made so far in this connection.

The baby was suspected to have been abducted by a woman who had befriended the patients in the ward. The police had yesterday issued a sketch of the suspect based on the description given by the relative of another patient, who claimed to have seen the woman taking the child away.
