8-year old boy kidnapped in Punjab

Gurdaspur, Jan 18 (UNI) An eight-year old boy was kidnapped while on his way to school in the town this morning, police here stated.

The boy identified as Sahil, a student of Adarsh Model School was kidnapped on College Road, SSP Kanwar Vijay Pratap said.

The SSP said the boy's parents had received a telephone call demanding a ransom of Rs one lakh. The police are making all out efforts to trace the boy and teams had been constituted for this purpose, he added.

A case of kidnapping had been registered at the city police station.
