18 candidates file nomination papers in Manipur

Imphal, Jan 18 (UNI) Eighteen candidates today filed their nomination papers for the coming Assembly elections.

Those who filed their nomination papers belonged to the Congress.

Official sources said reports of filing candidature were pouring in from Senapati, Ukhrul and Thoubal districts, where the elections will be held in the first phase on February 8.

Meanwhile, JD(S) general secretary Danish Ali announced the names of six candidates for the elections.
