Woman kills husband; commits suicide

Dharmaj, Anand district, Jan 17 (UNI) The wife of a financial broker smashed his head with an iron rod after an quarrel and later committed suicide by consuming pesticide, police said here today.

Bhavesh Raoji Patel,47, and his wife Jainaben Patel were found dead in Dharmanagar area here when their son Dhruv (12), came home from Nadiad after celebrating Uttarayan festival at his relative's home.

When the boy knocked at the door there was no response. A neighbour on peeping through the window saw the body of Bhavesh lying on the bed with a deep gash on his head. Jainaben's body was also recovered.

Police believe that the duo had died two to three days back.

The bodies have been sent for a post-mortem.
