Wife awarded life term for killing her husband

Madikeri, Jan 17: The District and Sessions Judge awarded life sentence to a housewife for killing her husband.

According to the complaint, an estate worker Kamala brutally murdered her husband Naga to death during in 2003.

Kamala and Naga were living in the line house of an estate at Attur Nallore village at Somwarpet taluk. Naga used to fight with his wife, often in a drunken state. On the fateful day, Kamala lost her temper and attacked him with a bill hook. In a bizarre state of mind, Kamala set ablaze the body.

The Sessions Judge also slapped a fine of Rs 2,000 on her.
