Tension after monkey slain

Ujjain, MP, Jan 17 (UNI) Tension prevailed in Tajpur village, about 15 km from this district headquarters, after a monkey was killed by a person who is absconding, police said.

The simian was targeted while sitting on a Tamarind tree yesterday. Pro-Hindu organisations raised slogans against the killing. A case was registered under the Wildlife (Protection) Act.

District administration officials reached the site. Locals demanded the speedy arrest of the accused.
