Kohima, Jan 17: The Naga Students' Federation (NSF) has vehemently condemned the spate of 'Nagas killing Nagas' in the name of factional feuds.

They asserted that this perpetual hunting and killing amongst Nagas is nothing but an act of insanity, which should be ended immediately.

In a release here today NSF President V Phushika Aomi and Assistant General Secretary Daniel Tep said Nagas should not dedicate their life to 'hunting and killing' their own brothers and pointed out that this "unabated fratricide fueled by tribalism and factional vendetta was ruining the national movement".

It further pointed out that Naga nationalism was apparently taking a back seat and instead a diabolical head of destructive and divisive force taking centre stage.

The NSF has appealed to all Nagas to rededicate to build the future in a spirit of true nationalism, as it is imperative for the Nagas to fight any force that stand against its dream to achieve freedom and start living as 'one people, one nation'.

It also appealed to all Naga national leaders to understand the consequences of killing among the brothers and to respect the sentiment of the mass and reconcile.

Meanwhile, in a separate statement issued by Angami Students' Union (ASU) through its President Medo Yhokha and General Secretary Khrielievi Chusi has expressed concern over the spate of killings among the Naga brethren and appealed to all Nagas to shun the path of conflict and violence.

The ASU condemned the recent shootouts and killings in Kohima town and said that whatever be the reason, killings can never be justified.

It further appealed to the state government to initiate necessary measures so that the fragile peaceful atmosphere was not disturbed.
