Singapore keen in supporting airports development in Karnataka

Bangalore, Jan 17 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy today said Singapore has expressed a keen interest to invest in the development of airports across the state.

Mr Kumaraswamy, who held meetings with delegations from Singapore, Kuwait and South Korea during the last few days, told newspersons here that the Singpore delegation had shown interest in setting up of IT parks similar to ITPL here, in Mysore, Mangalore and Belgaum.

Singapore also showed the interest in setting up a consulate in the city, he said.

Mr Kumaraswamy said Kuwait has expressed its interest in oil exploration in the coastal regions and in developing a satellite town between Bidadi and Ramnagar on the outskirts of the city.

The state had received 32 tenders in this regard, he said.

He said South Korea has urged the state to send a trade delegation from the state to their country to explore possibilities of promoting bilateral trade.

The Chief Minister said South Korea, which is a major producer of phospate and steel, has high regards for the state and its developments in various fields.
