SC collegium recommends transfer of Justice Sethna for misbehaving

New Delhi, Jan 17 (UNI) The Supreme Court collegium has recommended the transfer of controversial Gujarat High Court Judge Justice B Sethna to Sikkim High Court for allegedly misbehaving with Justice P B Mujamdar of the same High Court.

The recommendations have already been forwarded to the Union Law Ministry by former Chief Justice Y K Sabharwal who took the decision last Friday on the basis of the report sent by Gujarat High Court Chief Justice .

Other allegations against the controversial judge include working in an advertisment for promoting a product of a private company and writing letters to constitutional authorities which amounts to judicial impropriety .

This is a second case of a judge being transferred for misconduct.

Earlier Punjab and Haryana High Court Chief Justice B K Roy was transferred to Guwahati High Court when all the High Court judges went on a strike against his style of functioning.

UNI
