Saffron trident, Khakhi gun guard Ardh Kumbh
Ardh Kumbh Nagar (Allahabad), Jan 17: Realising a strong terror-threat during the ongoing Ardh Kumbh Mela here, saffron clad 'pehredars' have joined forces with their Khakhi counterparts to provide security to the Akharas dotting the fair arena.
''The police and other security personnel working round the clock are responsible for our security, but we should equally be alert and shoulder their burden,'' said Baba Shivanand Giri, one of the 150 'trident' wielding naga sadhus providing night vigil at the well-ornated Taponidhi Sri Anand Panchayati Akhara.
''You can call it the security sangam between our tridents and swords and police guns deployed for our security against blood thirsty terrorists who might target the Akharas,'' the Baba, checking the sharpness of his sword, told UNI
