Jammu, Jan 17 (UNI) Border Security Force (BSF) today termed the cover-fire provided by the Pakistani Rangers to facilitate infiltration into Indian territory as ''a major breach of cease fire'' in Jammu and Kashmir.

Two BSF personnel, including a sub-inspector, were seriously injured in the incident which occurred at Matkula border in the Akhnoor sector.

''It is for the first time that a major breach of ceasefire has taken place on the Jammu-Sialkote International Border segment since November 26, 2003,'' a BSF release said.

Rangers opened fire for nearly a dozen armed militants to sneak through, who were challenged by the BSF, the statement said.

''The unsuccessful militants fled, taking advantage of thick vegetation and fog,'' it said.
