Orpat to foray into wafer, e-bikes segments

Ahmedabad, Jan 17 (UNI) Orpat group, the world's largest clock maker and a leading vitrified tile manufacturer, will make a foray into the namkeen and wafer market next week.

Launching the Orpat's modular switches here today, Mr Nevil Patel, Director of the company said the products will be sold under the brand name of Oreva Foods. ''We shall come out with a variety of wafers and namkeens like moong dal, chana etc,'' he said. Giving details about the new range of products, he said these switches, available in three ranges, will be priced at least 30 to 40 per cent less than the market prices of those made by other companies. 'Our policy has been to provide quality products at reasonable prices,'' he said.

He said the company plans to export these switches to Saudi Arabia, other Gulf and African countries. ''We are already exporting our clocks to these countries and hence tying up for our switches will be easy,'' he added.

Elaborating on the company's diversification plans, he said Orpat also plans a foray into the battery-operated bike segment. ''We plan to launch a e-bike in another two to three months,'' he said.
