One Nigerian arrested for robbery in Mumbai

Mumbai, Jan 17 (UNI) One Nigerian national has been arrested, while two of his accomplices are absconding after allegedly robbing a businessman of Rs 5.6 lakh at the Taj Mahal hotel in south Mumbai.

The businessman, Anil Purvachand Kshirsagar (43) had gone to the cash counter of the five star hotel to clear his dues, when the trio approached him and engaged him in a conversation in an effort to distract him. During the course of their conversation, one of them snatched his briefcase containing Rs 5.6 lakh and fled, police said.

While one of the Nigerian miscreants, Luis Corn (27) was apprehended yesterday, two of his accomplices Dikson (30) and Diglas (38) are still at large.

A case of robbery has been registered at the Colaba police station, under whose jurisdiction the crime has occurred and further investigations are in progress to nab the absconding duo, police added.
