No action against channels after apology: Dasmunsi

New Delhi, Jan 17 (UNI) Minister of Information and Braodcasting Priyaranjan Dasmunsi today said no action was being taken against TV channels Sahara and IBN-7 for retelecasting the objectionable Gandhi video put on a website as they had apologised for their action.

''Since Gandhiji was all for forgiveness, so in keeping with his principles we are taking no action against the two channels as they had expressed their regrets over their action,'' he told a press conference here.

As far as the action against the erring wensite--Youtube-- was concerned, he had written to the Ministry of Information Technology to take appropriate action against the portal, as the matter came in their domain, said the Minister.

''We have expressed our pain and concern over the way the father of the nation was depicted in the video and now it was for the IT Ministrty to take appropriate action,'' said Dasmunsi.
