Mumbai Secular Front in disarray
Mumbai, Jan 17 (UNI) Mumbai Secular Front convenor Ramdas Athavale today accused Bharip Bahujan Mahasangh (BBM) President Prakash Ambedkar of creating hurdles in smooth functioning of the Front, comprising 22 parties, contesting the BMC elections scheduled on February one.
Talking to reporters here Mr Athavale, also the Republican party of India(RPI-A) President alleged that Mr Ambedkar even had gone to the press with his own list of candidates.
''However his party will try to reach for a consensus among all the parties till the last date of withdrawal which is a day after tomorrow,'he said.
He clarified he would never join hands with NCP and try to maintain unity in the third front.
Mr Athavale also said though his party candidates have filed nominations at 122 places out of 227, the party is prepared to reduce its candidates list to 70-80.
