Meghalaya seized 100 detontators near Indo-Bangla border
Shillong, Jan 17 (UNI) Meghalaya police have arrested two persons from state's Bagli village near the Indo-Bangladesh border for possession of illegal explosives.
Police said they seized 100 detonators, 25 gelatine sticks and 10 rolls of fuse wire from persons identified as Sko Lyngdoh and Brik Wanniang on January 15, last.
Both the accused claimed that the explosives were brought from state's Garo Hills and were meant for mining purposes. However, police said the duo failed to produce any official document to verify their claim.
Meanwhile, police said the interrogation would continue to glean further information from the arrested persons.
