Nasik, Jan 17 (UNI) Pandemonium reigned supreme for approximately seven hours today when a leopard entered the Laxmi Nagar locality at Panchvati, about 3 kms from here.

As news of the leopard entering the locality spread like wild-fire, curiosity prompted hordes of people to gather near the underconstruction bungalow where the big cat had taken refuge after going astray from the nearby forests.

However, valiant efforts by forest officials and police to sedate the predator proved futile. The sight of so the huge gathering had probably unsettled the leopard as it kept running here and there in an effort to dodge the guards and police.

Three people received minor injuries as the panicked crowd started toppling and falling over each other.

Finally, the drama ended with the guards ultimately succeeded in sedating the animal.

It was later released into the nearby Pandav caves, the forest from where it had strayed.
