Kalam to inaugurate centenary celebrations in AP

Hyderabad, Jan 17 (UNI) President A P J Abdul Kalam would inaugurate a year-long programme on the centenary celebrations of Vivek Vardhini Education Society on January 20 in the city, society President Sudhir Naik said today.

Addressing a press conference here, Mr Naik said Dr Kalam would attend the programme and deliver an address on the occasion of completing the 100th year of the society's establishment. Several state dignitaries would also participate in the function.

He said national seminars, musical concerts, alumni day, sports meet and other programmes would be conducted during the year-long celebrations. The society is also planning to start a public school and construct a centenary memorial building commemmorating the centenary, he added.
