Srinagar, Jan 17 (UNI) An international peace learning centre, the first of its kind in the country, will soon come up at the Kashmir University here to promote global peace and understanding.

The centre would provide an opportunity to the youth of the Kashmir valley to interact with the people of other parts of the country and the world.

The centre would also help in promoting bonds of mutual goodwill besides enriching the rich cultural heritage.

This was informed in a meeting between Youth Hostel Association international president Dr Harish Saxena and Kashmir University Vice Chancellor Professor Wahid Ahmad Qureshi here last evening.

Prof Wahid agreed to provide a barrack in the Kashmir University campus for the purpose.

The funds for raising the infrastructure of the hi-tech centre would be borne by the Association. The meeting also discussed the modalities such as the shape and design of the centre.
