Bangalore, Jan 17 (UNI) British Chancellor of Exchequer Gordon Brown today said his country and India will continue to work together in a ''coherent global effort with shared perspectives and commitments to combat terorrism, wherever and whenever such attacks take place.'' ''We cannot allow terrorist groups with jehadist ideologies to exploit people's grievance to justify a war against all,'' he told the 13th CII Partnerhip Summit here.

To root out terrorism, Britain, like India, was rightly investing in military, security forces, police and intelligence services both at home and abroad -- doubling investment in security since 9/11 Mr Brown said.

''We should start by winning the battle of hearts and minds. And there is no place for anti-Americanism as we address common challenges on the basis of our shared and enduring values...we must do all we can with counter-insurgency stategies to expose and isolate murderous extremists.

Real justifiable grievances should be addressed most urgently acting to put the Middle East road map back on track,'' he said.
