IMTEX to unveil tomorrow

Bangalore, Jan 17 (UNI) Latest innovations in the machine tool industry across the globe will be unveiled at the 13th IMTEX beginning tomorrow at the new fair complex of the Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers Association at Peenya on the outskirts of the City.

The much awaited event, the largest in South and South East Asia, in the sector has now moved to the Mecca of the machine tool industry of the country as Bangalore contributed to more than 70 per cent of the machine tools manufactured in the country. Hitherto the Fair had been held either in Mumbai or New Delhi.

More than 1160 companies, including 543 from 24 Countries would exhibit their wares at the IMTEX and Tool Tech held concurrently.

While IMTEX had a participation of 691 with 376 of them being from abroad, Tool Tech had 543 exhibitors. Germany for the third time in a row will have the largest overseas participation of 156 companies.

The entire range of metal working machine tools and manufacturing solutions would be on display and 'live' at the IMTEX Fair. While in Tool tech 2007, the newest innovations in cutting tools, tooling systems, machine tool accessories, metrology, and CAD / CAM software would be on show. In all 1200 machines worth Rs 300 crore would be exhibited in five halls covering a net area of 30,000 sq metre.

The new technologies that were expected to be showcased at this exhibition include high speed machining centres, multitasking machines, dry/MQL machining, high precision machines, for die and mould industry and die-less forming - the new emerging global manufacturing technologies in the world market.
