Haryana raises subsidy for certified cotton seeds
Chandigarh, Jan 17 (UNI) Haryana Agriculture Department has decided to provide 25 per cent subsidy to those farmers who will purchase certified cotton seeds during the next financial year.
Agricuture Department Director R K Khullar said the decision had been taken in a meeting for the work plan of cotton crop 2006-07.
He said till now the Agriculture Department had provided a subsidy of Rs 20 per kg to the Haryana Seed Development Corporation, Haryana Agriculture University, National Seed Corporation, IFFCO and Central Seed Farm for purchasing HS-6, H-1117, H-1098, HD-123, H-1226, HD-324, CISA-310, HHH-223, HHH-287, AAH-1 certified varieties of the cotton seeds.
Now the government had decided to provide 25 per cent subsidy on market rate of cotton seed instead of subsidy of Rs 20 per kg.
