Haryana: NRI consultants for Overseas Placement Bureau
Chandigarh, 17 Jan (UNI) The Haryana government would appoint NRI consultants in the Overseas Placement Bureau to make it more professional so that ample employment opportunities could be provided to the youth of the state.
This was stated by Finance, Labour and Employment Minister Birender Singh after inaugurating the newly set up office of Overseas Placement Bureau at Panchkula near here today.
Mr Birender Singh said setting up of a placement bureau was included in the manifesto of the Congress party during the Vidhan Sabha Elections held in February 2005.
He said the perception of the youth of the state had changed completely during the past 5 to 10 years and now they were keen to serve abroad also.
Mr Singh said a number of youths from Haryana were going abroad illegally and they had to face many problems. Keeping this in view, the state government had decided to set up a bureau to save the youth from the clutches of travel agents.
He said as much as 2000 enquiries had been received by the bureau so far and the efforts were on to make it more professional by introducing video conferencing systems. The services were also available at the website www.Haryanajobs.in.
