EFC clears 6 projects worth Rs 172 cr

New Delhi, Jan 17 (UNI) Delhi government's Expenditure Finance Committee today cleared six projects worth Rs 172 crore.

The proposals were cleared in a meeting of the EFC presided by Delhi Finance Minister A K Walia.

Out of the total, Health and Family Welfare and Law Departments had two projects each whereas one each were from Public Works and Urban Development Departments.

Under the PWD proposal, Jawala Heri-Bhera Enclave intersection on Outer Ring Road in West Delhi would become signal free. An underpass and two Foot Over Bridges would be constructed to provide much needed relief to pedestrians and commuters. This would ensure free flow of traffic and save valuable time, fuel and avert traffic jams apart from curbing accidents.

The project was expected to be completed within the next 30 months and at any cost before the 2010 Commonwealth Games.

EFC had sanctioned an amount of Rs 54.66 cr for the project.
