Congress to organise rally for setting up industry at Purulia

Kolkata, Jan 17 (UNI) The West Bengal Congress would organise a rally at Februaru end in support of setting up industry in Purulia and Bankura districts.

" We are not against industrialisation but the government should take special care of those areas where no industry has been set up, " party working president Pradip Bhattacharjee told newsmen here and called for publishing the land map to make the people aware of land acquisition.

He alleged that the forceful land acquisition process smacked of the "anti-farmer" policy of the government. " Not the government, the investor should talk directly to the farmers before acquiring the land from them, " Mr Bhattacharjee said.

The government should set up industry and Special Economic Zone(SEZ) in the barren land instead of multi-crop land, he opined.
