Commodity prices generally remained steady last week
New Delhi, Jan 17 (UNI) Retail prices of 14 essential commodities monitored by the Department of Consumer Affairs generally ruled steady over the week ending January 11.
Over the week, wheat prices remained steady at all the reporting centers except Lucknow and Bangalore and declined at Jaipur. Futures prices of wheat registered a falling trend.
Retail prices of sugar also remained steady or declined in different parts of the country. Future prices of sugar also displayed a declining trend.
Prices of gram dal either remained steady or declined during the week. Tur dal prices remained steady or declined except at Bhopal where the prices showed an increase.
In Delhi, the prices of groundnut oil, gram dal, tur dal, rice, sugar, vanaspati, potato and tea were holding steady. Prices of wheat and atta, milk and mustard oil were holding steady since one month. Price of packed salt was holding steady for one year.
Only the prices of onion and groundnut oil have shown an increase, out of 14 commodities monitored at Delhi, an official release said today.
