Citigroup launches IT centre in Mumbai

Kolkata, Jan 17: Citigroup IT Operations and Solutions Ltd (CITOS), a Citigroup company, has opened an ultra-modern, Global IT centre in Mumbai.

An official company release said here today that CITOS, which provides critical technology infrastructure support, develops and deploys strategic software applications for Citigroup entitles worlwide.

Spread over 47,000 square feet with a seating capacity of over 450, this Global IT centre would primarily manage and support Citigroup's IT infrastructure--system administration, database administration, information security and network monitoring for various Citigroup businesses across the world, it said.

Inaugurating the Global IT Centre, Citigroup India CEO Sanjay Nayar said, ''Citigroup has played a pioneering role in developing India as an outsourcing hub globally and CITOS is playing a crucial role in further reinforcing India's importance as a key provider of high quality, top end IT services with the Citigroup franchise globally.''

He also said, "CITOS is actively working in the rapidly growing domain of Technology infrastructure services with over 60 per cent of its 1100 staff providing high quality, secure, remote infrastructure support services to Citigroup business around the world."
