CBI begins probe into PNB scam
Hisar, Jan 17 (UNI) The CBI has begun probe into Rs two crore scam in Punjab National Bank's Sikandarpur branch in Haryana.
Senior Regional Manager A K Gupta told UNI today that the bank has handed over all the documents related to the scam to the premier investigative agency.
The bank has already dismissed Bank Officer S K Sachdeva and clerk D N Ladha while cashier Sunil Kumar has been dismissed.
The Haryana Police would also investigate the scam in which the three employees allegedly connived to commit the fraud which was exposed by the new bank officer.
''It is a rare case of scam in which the system was breached deliberately to pocket the money of the clients. The bank has started the process of settling the claims of the clients as per their deposits like Fixed Deposits or saving accounts,'' he said.
So far no arrest has been made in the case, he said.
