Call rates close low at 7.90 pc
Mumbai, Jan 17 (UNI) Interbank call rates today closed slightly lower at 7.90 to 8.10 per cent as against their previous closing level of 8.00-8.20 per cent, dealer said.
Demand and supply for funds remained steady as borrowings from banks are on the lower side.
Expectations of improvement in liquidity on beliefs that the central bank may intervene in the forex market to protect the Rupee's export competitiveness also aided the sentiment.
Amidst comparatively lower fund requirements, interbank rates are likely to move with a slightly downward bias, dealers added.
