AIBOC to strke from Jan 25
Kannur, Jan 17 (UNI) The All India Bus Operators Confederation (AIBOC) has decided to go on an indefinite strike from January 25 against the hike in insurance tariff.
AIBOC president Rajavarma Ballal told reporters that the strike had been called because of the irrational hike in the third party insurance.
Earlier, insurance tariff for each passenger per year was Rs 138 and it was now revised to Rs 345. Third party motor insurance premium was Rs 1,860 and now revised to Rs 4,650 per annum.
Over 8.5 lakh buses shall stop the service throughout the country, he said.
