24 hr water supply in twin cities

Hyderabad, Jan 17 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Information and Public Relations Minister Mohd Ali Shabbir today said round the clock drinking water supply to the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad would be provided in a phased manner.

Addressing a press conference here, Mr Shabbir said 321 mgd water was required to provide 24 hour water supply. The Krishna drinking water scheme phase two, at the cost Rs 830 crore would be taken up after the central clearance. Six reservoirs, three pumping stations and 110 km length pipeline would be constructed under second phase.

The government also finalised the 20 km length Krishna water diversion scheme to Secunderabad at a cost of Rs 81 crore.

Stating that the government also finalising sewarage master plan in the old city, he said four flyovers which were under construction would be completed by the end of May and June this year.
