2 brothers awarded life sentence for murder

Kolhapur, Jan 17 (UNI) A local court today convicted two brothers and sentenced them to life, holding them guilty of murdering a man one year back.

Additional sessions judge K D Bhosale, while awarding the life sentence upon Shrikant Krishna Thikare (30) and Subhash (32), also imposed a fine of Rs 4000 each. Krishna (58), the father of the two, has also been sentenced to three years imprisonment.

According to the prosecution case, the two brothers, abetted by their father, had severely beaten up their neighbour, Mahesh Mahadev Jagdale (35), over a dispute arising out of the construction of a boundary wall. Mahesh had succumbed to his injuries at a hospital later.
