125 people fall ill after consuming food in marriage party

Ahmedabad, Jan 17 (UNI) Around 125 people fell sick after partaking food at a marriage function at Sonasan village of Prantij taluka in Sabarkantha district today.

According to District Health Officer Dr S S Chauhan of Himatnagar Civil Hospital, who is leading a team comprising of 12 doctors and 27 paramedical staff to Sonasan village, the people complained of uneasiness after eating the meals.

Dr Chauhan said consumption of fruit salad led to vomiting and diarrhoea. He said 20 people were still under treatment this evening.

earlier, the others were discharged after being given medicines.

Some people also approached the Community Health Centre (CHC) at Prantij. Medical Officer of the CHC Dr Anoop Amin said some 35 people came to him complaining of nausea and uneasy feeling.

A medical team from Prantij has also been rushed to the spot.
