Kerala: UDF stages dharna against price-rise

Thiruvananthapuram, Jan 16: The Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) staged a dharna before the State Secretariat here today marking the beginning of a series of agitations against price-rise, deteriorating law and order situation and crisis in the farm sector.

Inaugurating the dharna, Leader of the Opposition and former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy alleged that functioning of the government in the state had come to a standstill due to infighting in the CPI(M) which led the ruling coalition.

Leaders of other UDF partners also addressed the dharna.
