Ten MoU inked at Investors' Meet-2007
Khajuraho, MP, Jan 16 (UNI) Ten Memorandam of Understanding, half of which related to the energy sector, were inked by industrialists on the inaugural day of the Investors' Meet-2007, the first event of its kind organised by the Madhya Pradesh government at this world-renowned tourist destination.
Thermal power plants would be set up as part of the MoU signed in the presence of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, state Industry Minister Babulal Gaur and Power Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya. The state's generation capacity would be enhanced by 3,600 MW worth Rs 14,650 crore.
Jai Prakash Associates would pump in Rs 2,000 crore for a 500-MW unit at Sidhi district's Karai while Narent Power Ltd would invest Rs 4,000 crore for a 1,000 MW plant and Iron Coal Benefication Pvt Ltd would plough in Rs 2,250 crore for two 250 MW power stations.
Kedia Power Ltd would invest Rs 2,400 crore for a couple of 300 MW imported coal-based stations at Jhabua district's Bamniya while SJK Power Ltd would establish a Rs 4,000-crore 500 MW plant in Anuppur district.
The Malaysian company Pel Naksiz submitted an expresson of interest for a 1.5 million-dollar pilot-training institution that would be expanded by pumping in five million dollars.
The Metenik Soft Group would plough in Rs 120 crore, in phases, into Bhopal. Punjab's Abhishek Industries would set up a Rs 963 crore textile unit in Sehore that would employ 3,000 people.
