SI killed in road mishap

Kancheepuram, Jan 16 (UNI) Two persons, including a Sub Inspector of Police and his brother, riding on a two-wheeler were killed on the spot when a Government-owned bus hit the vehicle at a place near Chengalpattu-Madurai Veeran temple yesterday.

According to police, Sub Inspector Loganathan (50) attached to a Annasalai poilce station and his brother were returning to Chennai after celebrating Pongal festival at their native place in Chengalpattu, when the mishap occurred.

The bus, from Utharameroor was on its way to Chennai, police said adding the bus driver was absconding.
