Portuguese Prez keen on close ties with India

Mumbai, Jan 16: The President of the Republic of Portugal Prof Anial Antonio Cavaco Silva, who is leading a high-level delegation to India has called for forging close ties between the two countries, at the political, economic and business level.

Maharashtra Governor S M Krishna hosted a high tea party yesterday in honour of the visiting President, where he expressed his desire to strengthen his nation's relationship with India.

Prof Silva was accompanied by the Portugal Minister for Foreign affairs Luis Arnado, Minister for Economy and Innovation Manuel Pinbo, Minister for Science, Technology and Higher Education Marjano Gago, Minister of Culture Isabel Parel de Lima and others.
