PM arrives, visits Tinsukia
Dibrugarh, Jan 16 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today arrived here on a day's visit to the violence ravaged upper Asom, where 61 Hindi-speaking people were killed by the ULFA last week.
The Prime Minister was received by Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and several other top officials of the state at the Mohanbari airport.
Dr Singh was briefed about the situation in Uper Asom by the officials before he left for Sadiya in Tinsukia district.
The ULFA had massacred 13 Biharis people from Masaldhari Chapori on January five at Sadiya.
Later, Dr Singh visited a refugee camp at Sepon Shokolia near Moran in Dibrugarh sheltering 700 Biharis at who were displaced in the carnage.
