Manmohan arrives, visits Tinsukia
Dibrugarh, Jan 16: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today arrived here for a day visit to the violence ravaged upper Asom, where 61 Hindi-speaking people were killed by the ULFA last week.
The Prime Minister was received by Asom Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and several other top officials of the state in the Mohanbari airport.
Dr Singh was breifed about the situation in Uper Asom by the officials before leaving for Sadiya in Tinsukia district.
The ULFA had massacred 13 Bihari people from Masaldhari Chapori on January fibe at Sadiya.
Later, Dr Singh visited a refugee camp sheltering 700 Biharis at Sepon Shokolia near Moran in Dibrugarh , who were displaced in the carnage.
