Lt.col killed, 4 soldier wounded in Kashmir accident

Srinagar, Jan 16 (UNI) A Top Army officer and four soldiers were wounded when there vehicle met with an accident near Pattan on the Sirnagar-Baramulla highway this evening, a defence spokesman said He said a Maruti Gypsy, carrying Army personnel, hit a tree while avoiding a direct collision with an oncoming truck at Mirgun near Pattan on the Srinagar-Baramulla highway this evening he said.

The Spokesman said a lieutenant Colonel was killed and four soldiers wounded in the accident. The identity of the Lt Col was being ascertained, he said, adding the soldiers have been hospitalised. Further details are awaited.
