ICWAI to hold National Convention Jan 18
Hyderabad, Jan 16 (UNI) The Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India (ICWAI) today announced the 48th National Cost Convention will be held here from January 18 to 20 with the theme ''Accelerating Economic Growth--Unlocking Value by Management Accountants.'' Noting the Indian economy had witnessed a sea change in the past one decade with sectors such as retail, telecom, urban infrastructure, IT&ITeS and bio-technology growing at much faster pace, the ICWAI said the conference would lay down the broad framework for sector-specific issues and highlight integration of the management accounting profession to lay down a road map for developing skills, knowledge and competencies in tune with user requirements.
The convention would be inaugurated by Dr C Rangarajan,Chairman, Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister while Union Company Affairs Minister Prem Chand Gupta would be the chief guest for the Valedictory Session, an ICWAI release here said.
The convention would also include a 'CEO Forum' wherein successful experiences of CEOs on integration of strategy, management and accounting will be discussed by industry leaders.
As a prelude to National Convention, a Students Convention and Practitioners Convention would be organised on January 17.
