Hungarian Finance Minister meets Lok Sabha Speaker

New Delhi, Jan 16 (UNI) Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee today called for greater cooperation between India and Hungary and said parliamentarians of both the countries can play a proactive role in cementing the overall friendly relations.

Welcoming Hungarian Finance Minister Janos Veres who called on him today in the Parliament House, Mr Chatterjee thanked Hungary for supporting India's candidature for a permanent seat in the United Nations Security Council.

Mr Veres said the two countries could further strengthen their cooperation in several areas in a mutually beneficial way.

Mr Veres informed that he had a very useful interaction with the Indo-Hungary Parliamentary Friendship Group this afternoon.

Mr Veres had been a member of the Hungary-India Parliamentary Friendship Group in the Hungarian Parliament for over a decade.

The Hungarian Minister visited the Parliament Museum and complimented the Speaker for taking initiative to present the glorious history and culture of India in a very interesting manner. He also extended an invitation to Mr Chatterjee to visit his country.

Both the leaders hoped that the forthcoming visit of the Hungarian Prime Minister to India would deepen the bond of friendship between the two countries.
