High-level French delegation meets Ashwani Kumar

New Delhi, Jan 16 (UNI) A high-level French delegation today called on Dr Ashwani Kumar, Minister of State for Industry, here and invited investment in upcoming sectors in their respective countries as part of growing economic ties between India and France.

The Minister highlighted the potential of investing in the infrastructure, food processing, pharmaceuticals, banking and civil nuclear energy sectors in India. He called upon French industry particularly the medium scale enterprises to look at India with greater focus and thrust.

Mr Jean Burelle, President of MEDEF International (the French Business Confederation), who is leading the high-powered delegation, highlighted the importance of bilateral economic ties and hoped that Indian industry and business would also look to invest in France in a big way.

He cited sectors such as energy, financial services, food processing, electronics as areas in which the French know-how can be used for mutual advantage of both countries.

The delegation consisted of top executives from leading French companies such as Alstom, Areva, BNP Paribas and Suez.
