New Delhi, Jan 16 (UNI) Against the backdrop of the findings of the Delhi Government's audit report which indicted the Principal of Shaheed Bhagat Singh College of financial irregularities, DUTA today demanded a probe into the functioning of the educational institution.

''Pending the inquiry the Principal of the college should be sent on leave. The probe must be comprehensive so that all irregularities in that institution are exposed,'' DUTA President Amar Deo Sharma said.

Dr Jitender Kaur took over as the Principal of the college in June 2001.

Mr Sharma also demanded expansion of the Governing body of the Shaheed Bhagat Singh College.

The audit report said Ms Kaur had indulged in financial misappropriation, tampering with records and misguiding the staff on issues of leave besides others administrative irregularities.
